The Lord of the Rings workout
I won’t reach my next checkpoint in the Walk to Mordor challenge for a while yet, but today I officially caught up with (and surpassed) the estimated distance of the trip :) I think the 11.78 kilometre walk from Springwood to Upper Mt Gravatt on Friday night might have helped a bit. Possibly.
Anyway, I put together this Lord of the Rings-themed workout as a bit of a challenge for the next time I’m watching the movies. I was inspired by the Harry Potter-themed workout, and the Lord of the Rings drinking game.
I’m doing the Walk to Mordor again this year and, once again, I’ve got ages to go until my next checkpoint. So I thought I’d bring this back. I never actually got to do this because of my wrist injury, but I’m thinking I might give it a go over the next couple of days and replace the planks with wall-sits.
If you want a more insane intense version, you can find one here.

I always believed, since I was a child, that Middle Earth is real.
It is inside of us, as a guide, as a friend, as a place where, despite of difficulties of life, you can always find salvation.

The expanded Lord of the Rings workout
Today, my brother and sister began to undertake my original Lord of the Rings workout. I couldn’t join in due to wrist pain, so I called out instructions to them instead.
They wanted a bit of variation, and since neither of them are hindered by wrist splints or shoulder spasms, I made a few changes. They only managed to get about 45 minutes into the movie before dinner, but they were ready to kill me.
These Lord of the Rings workouts were inspired by the Harry Potter-themed workout, and the Lord of the Rings drinking game.

“You fool. No man can kill me. Die now.”
“I am no man.”
Yep. Let’s pretend this is how my arm was injured.
